The ceremony began with music, a flag ceremony, and an invocation. At the conclusion of the ceremony Evelyn Husband-Thompson, Michael Griffin and William Gerstenmaier laid a wreath at the base of the Space Mirror Memorial. Stephen Feldman led the service.
The ceremony was held at the Space Mirror Memorial at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
