Sports executives testified about the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids and human growth hormone which compromise the health of athletes and undermine the integrity of competition. Topics included the testing and enforcement protocols in professional, school, and amateur sports. The subcommittee is considering legislation to impose anti-doping measures on all U.S. sports, which most of the sports witnesses opposed indirectly. close
