President George H.W. Bush outlined the Republican’s proposals for an economic recovery package in a photo opportunity during his meeting with Republican congressional leaders in the White House. The president said he wanted to sign an extended unemployment benefits bill that would not “bust the budget,” as would the Democrats' bill. Following the cabinet room meeting members of the Republican Congressional Leadership spoke with reporters on the Northwest Driveway of the White House. close
