NASA Select Television carried the video and audio feed from space shuttle Endeavour as an astronaut attempted to attach a “capture” bar to the Intelsat VI satellite, Intelsat 603 in outer space. The satellite experienced a malfunction following its launch into space, and the astronauts Pierre Thuot and Richard Hieb, on this their second attempt, tried to attach the bar which would allow the satellite to be brought into the space shuttle’s cargo bay. Despite many attempts, the astronauts failed to attach the bar to the satellite. close
