Jack Brooks D-Texas, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, discussed the Judiciary Committee’s hearing held earlier in the day on U.S. foreign policy concerning Iraq prior to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in mid-1991. The committee was investigating allegations that Iraq used aid credits from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to purchase arms and weaponry to build up its military. close
