Senator Paul Simon, D-IL, spoke before the Transafrica Forum about combatting apartheid in South Africa through stronger sanctions, and increasing aid to other African countries. The organization gave Senator Simon, who chaired the Senate Subcommittee on Africa, a perfect rating for his positions regarding the continent. The senator had recently suspended his presidential campaign after the results of the 1988 Wisconsin Primary. close
