Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. spoke to reporters and answered questions about the arrest of Illinois Governor Blagojevich on corruption charges, and his possible connection to the investigations. He said that while he was “Senate candidate number 5” in the U.S. attorney’s case. He also said that he had met with the governor about filling the vacant Illinois U.S. Senate seat, but he had not made any promises or offers in exchange for an appointment to the Senate. close
