Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich talked to reporters and answered questions about his impeachment trial set to begin on Monday, January 26, 2009, in the Illinois Senate. He spoke about several legal provisions in the State Constitution that he wished to invoke to defend himself in the Illinois Senate trial and objected to Senate rules baring him from calling several witnesses. In also remarked that Illinois senators were intent on “hanging” him without a fair trial, like a cowboy accused of stealing a horse. close
