Novelist Diane Wei Liang talked about her memoir Lake with No Name: A True Story of Love and Conflict in Modern China (Simon and Schuster; June 2, 2009). She talked about growing up in a work camp during China’s Cultural Revolution and her later participation in the Student Democracy Movement and the June 1989 Tiananmen Square demonstrations that ended with the massacre of hundreds of Chinese citizens by the government of China. She responded to questions from members of the audience.
