U.S. narcotics officials testified on the increasing incidence of drug trafficking and violence in Jamaica, Haiti, the Bahamas and Dominican Republic. Among the topics they addressed were the human and economic costs of the trafficking, previous attempts to fight drug cartels in Colombia and Mexico, and the relation of the drug trade to terrorism in the Western Hemisphere. close
