Charlie Cook and Stu Rothenberg assessed the results of the 2012 elections, the campaign in general, and the futures of both parties. Mr. Cook said Republicans need to appeal to a wider range of voters, warning, “Their center is older white men and that’s not where this country is going. The future doesn’t look like the Republican Party.” Mr. Rothenberg in his analysis asserted that Democratic voters' beliefs do not allow them to vote for Republican candidates, while Republican voters' beliefs leave them more open to supporting Democrats. They responded to questions from members of the audience.
