National Governors Association Chair Jack Markell and Vice Chair Mary Falling gave the organization’s first annual State of the States address. They reviewed current conditions in and challenges faced by states, and highlighted governors' priorities for 2013. They talked about the effects of budget uncertainties at the federal level on state budgets and employment. The two governors also took questions from audience members on immigration reform, gun control, and health care reform. close
