Vyola Ortner and Diana du Pont talked about their book You Can’t Eat Dirt: Leading America’s First All-Women Tribal Council and How We Changed Palm Springs, in which they chronicle Ms. Ortner’s election to the council of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and the changes she instituted.
