The producers of a poll on the 1992 presidential race detailed their poll results in a news conference held during the 1992 Republican National Convention. The poll, conducted during the convention, found President George H. W. Bush to be closing the gap between himself and Democratic presidential nominee Gov. Bill Clinton. President Bush moved from 16 percent behind Gov. Clinton to 5 percent behind the Democratic nominee. close
