Julian Read, an aide to Texas Governor John Connally, was working with White House press and briefed reporters at Parkland Hospital. Larry Temple worked with the White House to plan the Texas trip. Ben Barnes helped organized the dinner planned in Austin that evening. Following the assassination, he organized a prayer service at the Capitol.
