Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave the keynote address at an event honoring the 10th anniversary of the Center for American Progress. She talked about the history of the organization and its success at promoting its progressive agenda in the U.S. and worldwide. She also make commented that the U.S. needed to stop “careening from crisis to crisis without a plan” and that the 16-day government shutdown earlier in the month which saw families negatively impacted and workers furloughed was an example of politicians choosing “scorched earth over common ground.”

The 2013 Progressive Party was held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. close
