Panelists discussed their economic case for raising the federal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Representative George Miller (D-CA) talked about their bill to raise the minimum wage incrementally to $10.10 per hour and then be indexed to inflation. The Economic Policy Institute released a letter from economists urging that increase. The panelists responded to questions from reporters in the audience. close
