Growing up in a Mormon household, Jana grew disenchanted with the church and left it when she was in high school. At the time, she couldn’t understand why any woman would be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including her mother. Decades later, Jana decided to reexamine her issues with the church and learn more about the religion that played a large part in her childhood.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Salt Lake City, Utah, from May 4-8 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed.
