Speakers at the 68th Annual Conference on Citizenship talked about ways to engage citizens to become active civil participants in their communities. General Stanley McChrystal (Ret.) received the Hooah award for his national service and spoke on ways to get involved and give back to the community, including expanding the field of national service and making a year of service a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans. Then a panel discussion focused on how economic inequality lessens civic participation.
