Once in a Great City David Maraniss talked about his book, Once In A Great City: Why Detroit Mattered, in which he provides an inside look into the city of Detroit in 1962-1964, and explains what shaped the city during that period. He also shared his influences for the book.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Madison, Wisconsin, from September 19-23 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
