Authors, academics, and a former National Security Council staff member talked about the effects of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on the creation of the creation of a domestic security apparatus. Topics included the politics, policy issues, and secrecy that preceded the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and strategic staffing decisions.

This was part of a three-day conference hosted by Hofstra University on administration of the 43rd president. close
