Turner Simkins talked about his book, Possibilities: Perseverance, Grace, and the Story of One Family’s Life With Leukemia, about his son, Brennan, who was diagnosed with a rare subtype of Leukemia. Brennan, who was diagnosed on his seventh birthday, was the first patient to undergo a successful quadruple bone marrow transplant, putting him in full remission.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Augusta, Georgia, from February 21-25 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed.
