Kathleen Gagne and Bob Kennedy gave a tour of Worcester, Massachusetts', Mechanics Hall, built in 1857 for members of the Worcester Mechanics Association. The hall was designated as the place where members could continue to develop the knowledge and skills to manufacture. The hall also served as a platform for major political events and cultural activities.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Worcester, Massachusetts, from October 17-23 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
