The final day of parliamentary debate on the Free Trade Agreement with the United States is shown. After the one-hour Question Period, the third and final reading of Bill C-130, the Free Trade Agreement, begins. During the debate, the leaders of Canada’s three political parties, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, John Turner, and Ed Broadbent, deliver speeches explaining their parties' positions on the Agreement. Each speech is approximately one hour. Debate then continues on issues such as the Agreement’s effect on Canadian agriculture, social programs, and business relations with the United States. The vote on the Agreement will take place the next day. close
