Former U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker talked about the Syrian refugee crisis at a forum hosted by the Arab Center Washington DC. He criticized the Obama administration for its lack of leadership on the issue calling the situation a rare moment when “America’s core values and its interests coincide.” He said the U.S. should welcome 100,000 Syrian refugees - 10 times the number the Obama administration had called for - and also warned that the crisis would deepen if more action was not taken. Ambassador Crocker also criticized Republicans for a lack of support. He served as U.S. ambassador to the countries of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kuwait, and Lebanon throughout the Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama administrations. close
