Michael Midddleton, the University of Missouri System interim president, talked about the response to racial tension and student protests on the school’s Columbia campus. He explained that students felt marginalized. Mr. Middleton also said leaders must continually assess their campus to ensure race relations are good and that student concerns are being addressed. Mr. Middleton was appointed interim president to move the college toward diversity, equity, and inclusion after Tim Wolfe resigned following his administration’s response to racial incidents on campus. Mr. Middleton responded to questions submitted my members of the audience at this National Press Club Speakers breakfast. close
