Wayne Frederick made opening remarks at a “Cancer Moonshot” summit at Howard University hosted by Vice President Joe Biden. He talked about the initiative to discover a cure for cancer by increasing the rate of progress in cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment, doing in five years what normally would take ten.

The day-long summit, held by the vice president’s White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force at Howard University’s Armour J. Blackburn University Center in Washington, D.C., was one of over 200 events being held that day across the country bringing together public health officials, cancer patients, and technology experts to share information, generate ideas, and form collaborations in ways to treat cancer. close
