Panelists took part in a series of discussions on a new National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine report on the impact of immigration on the economy, the workforce, and local communities. According to the findings in the report, the long-term effects of immigration on the wages and employment of native-born workers is minimal; however, there are some negative effects on low-skilled workers. In addition, the report finds that immigration has an overall positive impact on long-run economic growth in the U..S.
