Former Iraqi Ambassador to the United Nations Feisal al-Istrabadi was among the panelists at a discussion on the Iraqi view of the 2016 U.S. election hosted by the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C. Panelists also talked about the ongoing debate over U.S. policy and military interventionism in the country, particularly as the U.S.-led coalition continues fighting against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) militant group, and what the U.S. could do to prevent a power vacuum following the Islamic State’s expected defeat. They also offered suggestions for the next presidential administration in advancing U.S. interests in Iraq and more broadly in the Middle East. close
