Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas spoke about the legacy of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who died February 13, 2016. He talked about Justice Scalia’s constitutional philosophy of originalism that framed his belief in the limited authority of government, and also shared some personal stories about his friend and former colleague. Justice Thomas was introduced by Justice Scalia’s son Eugene. A memorial biographical video of Justice Scalia that was shown included quotes from many family members and fellow justices.

This was the keynote speech of the annual dinner at the Federalist Society’s 2016 annual National Lawyers Convention on the theme “The Jurisprudence and Legacy of Justice Scalia.” close
