Experts including those who served in the Obama and George W. Bush administrations talked about the importance of U.S.-led alliances such as NATO. Speakers included retired Admiral Gary Roughead, former chief of Naval Operations from 2007-11; Michael Green, former special assistant to President George W. Bush for national security affairs; and Kathleen Hicks, former principal deputy defense undersecretary for President Obama.
