Conversation with Mark Arax Mark Arax talked about economic and geographic landscape of the San Joaquin Valley. Mr. Arax shared the challenges of writing about the land where he grew up, its engineered development, and how future non-fiction writers need to continue to tell the story of Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley. Mr. Arax is the author of In My Father’s Name, [West of the West, and The King of California.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Fresno, California, from January 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
