Mr. Pruitt, the Oklahoma attorney general, was confirmed by the Senate the previous day by a 52-46 vote. Justice Alito spoke about Mr. Pruitt’s career and qualifications, as well as the history of the venue, the Indian Treaty Room in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. close
