C-SPAN announced the winners of the 2017 StudentCam documentary competition. Sisters Ava and Mia Lazar won the grand prize for The Tempest Tossed, their video on refugees and immigration policy. Molly Dougherty, Camdyn Lewis, and Ava Decker won first prize in the middle school category for U.S. Gun Violence--A Complicated Puzzle. Matthew Gannon was the high school east category first prize winner for his invisible. Arundathi Nair’s video Fossil Fuels to Renewables: The Challenges of Transitioning won first place in the high school west group. close
