Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi delivered an address on reports of violence toward ethnic Muslims which led to a mass exodus to neighboring Bangladesh. She addressed the growing international criticism directed toward her government for their response to the crisis, which some were calling ethnic cleansing. Ms. Suu Kyi said her government “does not fear international scrutiny” and pledged to work toward a peaceful solution. Ms. Suu Kyi cancelled her scheduled trip to the U.N.
