Sadako Ogata delivered the inaugural lecture to an audience at the Sylvia Ostry Foundation on international organizations' policies concerning human rights. She discussed the current status of human rights in the priority of international issues following the end of the Cold War, and the role of the U.N. and other international organizations in guaranteeing human rights, peace and security in trouble zones around the world.
