Kentucky State of the Commonwealth Address

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin (R) delivered the State of the Commonwealth address at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. He spoke about his goals of creating jobs, improving the education system, and updating the state’s infrastructure, while pursuing a balanced budget in 2018. The governor highlighted the state’s efforts in criminal justice reform and improving its foster care system. Additionally, he talked about the budgetary steps he wants the state to take in order to make solvent the state’s pension plans, which include eliminating 70 state programs and across-the-board budget reductions. close
