Mick Mulvaney and Marc Short briefed reporters at the White House on the Trump administration’s plans to handle a government shutdown. Both officials argued President Trump was working to avoid a government shutdown and said Democrats would be responsible if it happened. Director Mulvaney accused the Obama administration of “weaponizing” the 2013 shutdown for political purposes and vowed the Trump administration would handle it differently. close
