Author and playwright Tennessee Williams is best known for his plays, The Glass Menagerie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and A Streetcar Named Desire, which won a Pulitzer Prize in 1948. Kenneth Holditch, co-founder of the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, talked about Williams' life in New Orleans and the influence it had on his work.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 19-25, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
