Homeland Security Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Christopher Krebs testified before the House Homeland Security Committee about the nation’s election infrastructure. He provided an update on federal efforts to increase resilience of voting systems, and explained coordination between his agency, the FBI, and state and local election officials. Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea (D) also testified, sharing her perspective from the state level and where her state stands in being ready for the November 2018 midterm elections. close
