On the eve of the 2018 midterm elections, former President Barack Obama spoke in Fairfax, Virginia, to Democratic campaign staffers and volunteers in support of Senator Tim Kaine and U.S. House candidate and state senator Jennifer Wexton. President Obama reflected on his younger days, and how he developed his appreciation for and participation in public service. He thanked those in the room for their work on behalf of Senator Kaine and Ms. Wexton, and said the character of the country was on the ballot on Election Day. close
