President Trump and first lady Melania Trump participated in the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardoning ceremony in the White House Rose Garden. The White House posted a poll online to determine which of the two turkeys, named Peas and Carrots, would be pardoned and which would serve as the alternate. Peas won the poll and was pardoned by the president, but both turkeys will next head to Virginia Tech’s “Gobbler’s Rest” to spend the rest of their lives in the care of veterinarians and students. close
