Navy and Marine Corps senior officials testified on the readiness of the two military branches at a Senate Armed Services joint subcommittee hearing. Witnesses included Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, Marine Corps Commandant General Robert Neller, and Admiral William Moran, the vice chief of naval operations. They discussed such issues as Navy ship and submarine maintenance, military personnel training and aviation investments. In addition, Government Accountability Office Defense Capabilities Director John Pendleton provided recommendations for addressing current and future readiness challenges facing the Navy and Marine Corps. close
