British Prime Minister Theresa May reported back to the House of Commons to outline a new deal following a historic defeat on her government’s original plan to exit the European Union, also known as “Brexit.” She told members she had listened to their concerns and would now plan to meet with European leaders again on the Ireland border issue, known as the backstop policy. She also announced that the application fee for EU citizens wishing to live in the U.K. would be waived. However, Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn said the “Plan B” deal was undeliverable and that “nothing had changed,” and later accused Mrs. May of being in “deep denial” over the scale of her recent Brexit defeat. close
