The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted a discussion on the political instability in Venezuela with former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela William Brownfield and Venezuela’s newly designated ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) Gustavo Tarre. Mr. Tarre was appointed by Interim President Juan Guaido who several countries, including the U.S., Canada, Colombia and Brazil, recognized as the legitimate president instead of Nicolás Maduro. Ambassador Tarre said Mr. Maduro’s power came from fraud. At the beginning of his remarks, Code Pink protesters interrupted the event. close
