Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein delivered remarks at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. He said the campaign objectives of his military branch include defending the homeland, having a safe and effective nuclear deterrent, defeating peer threats, deterring rogue nation states and maintaining momentum against violent extremist groups. General Goldfein also discussed the challenges facing the Air Force focusing specifically on past budget constraints, personnel recruitment and the military pilot shortage.
