Veterans Affairs officials testified at a hearing on female veterans' health care issues. The witnesses discussed efforts to enhance services and access for female veterans, military sexual trauma screenings, and mental health and maternity services. Patricia Hayes, VA Women’s Health Services chief consultant, told the committee the number of women using VA health services had tripled since 2001, and women constitute about 16 percent of active duty military forces. close
