The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on national security, intellectual property, and other legal issues related to the roll out of 5G technology throughout the U.S. The director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the State Department’s top cybersecurity official talked about issues raised by Chinese technology company Huawei and its push to dominate the worldwide market for 5G technology equipment. They talked about security issues related to Huawei products and about the efforts by other companies like Nokia and Ericsson to provide similar technologies with greater adherence to data safety protocols. Then, three academic experts talked about ways the U.S. and its businesses could thwart Chinese threats. close
