John Bozeman
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2019 LCV Cities Tour” in Bozeman, Montana, from June 1-7, 2019, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.

Pioneer John Bozeman is best known for blazing a trail through the Wyoming Territory and into the gold fields of Western Montana. He also helped found the town of Bozeman, Montana, which is named after him. Michael Fox, curator of history at the Museum of the Rockies, talked about Mr. Bozeman and showed some of his personal belongings that were with him when he was shot and killed in 1867.
