Historian David Pietrusza discussed the 1919 World Series fix by members of the Chicago White Sox in what came to be known as the “Black Sox” scandal. He talked about how book and film portrayals of the fix shaped public perceptions of what happened. He is the author of two books on the subject: “Rothstein: The Life, Times, and Murder of the Criminal Genius who Fixed the 1919 World Series” and “Judge and Jury: The Life and Times of Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis” about baseball’s first commissioner. close
